Do you bargain when you buy things in the market?

I wouldn’t say that bargaining is typical of the Belorussians. We regard prices for everything as inflexible so very few dare to bargain. Maybe sellers are to blame as their main principle is take it or leave it. Rarely can you come across one who is willing to lower his price. The next generation might not be ashamed of discussing the merits and faults of what they are going to buy. It’s normal for Easterners to try to talk each other into. It goes without saying that running down is not the case. It’s not shameful to improve your chances of getting better conditions. If can have the best it is up to you to make the best of what you have. The same goes for bargaining. As for me I am not in the habit of buying things at a local market as I think that the quality of the things sold there is substandard. Bigger shops sell almost the same things at a bit higher prices but faulty goods are easily replaced which is not the case when you purchase something at a market. They may not have what you need in stock and you’ll have to wait a fortnight or more before you finely get what you want.

It is difficult to think of advice which can be useful for everyone. Were I told what your priorities are it would be immensely easier. If buying things for you is a way of expressing your individuality, the best place for you is a boutique. You can buy only designer things there so it’s a small wonder that they are pricey since you pay not only for an item of clothing, for instance, but a famous label as well. If you are on a tight budget and you are ready to hunt down a cheap item but of a descent quality your place of destination is a local market. Your chances of running into a good thing are low but it doesn’t mean that it is a virtually impossible task to accomplish. If you succeed your efforts will pay off. Low priced things are not necessarily rubbish. An innate taste in clothes will make up for temporary financial difficulties. If you don’t fuss about style and clothes, make for the nearest shop and whatever you buy it will be good value for money. Conventional food and clothes are good enough for me, so my choice is the last one mentioned. If it didn’t take long to get your purchase delivered buying on-line would be an option. Who knows? Maybe in some 20 years doing the shopping will be a tale to tell. Even nowadays there some makes of fridges which can buy food online when you are about to run out of them.

Who does most of the food shopping in your family?

The one who has more free time is more likely to do the shopping. My parents work full time and my brother is a student at BSU so it is usually me who does it. When I am busy cramming for this or that test and mum is in the process of cooking something my father is ready to help. In any case my mum is the person who makes a shopping list. My father does his best to follow it closely. When he fails to buy something in one shop he shops till he drops but buy everything he is asked for. I am usually aware of what is going to be cocked and I can easily find a replacement for a missing item. I wouldn’t say I am crazy about food shopping but mouth watering pictures in my imagination ease this sometimes a tedious procedure
